Shandong announced on Wednesday that it would be increasing its grain stockpiles.
The province said it was planning upgrades and new construction of 2.4 million tons of storage capacity to increase stockpiles of corn and soybeans.
In addition to expanding stockpiles, the province said it would strengthen supervision and oversight of stockpiles as corruption has remained an endemic problem across the country and the past year has seen a large amount of corruption investigations and arrests.
