Policymakers in China push for lower soybean import tariff, higher yields

Delegates at the annual two sessions political meeting in Beijing recommended China to increase the security of its soybean supply, including more trades with Russia. Last year, the border province of Heilongjiang imported 444,000 tons of soybeans from Russia, down 27% on year. This volume accounts for over 80% of all Chinese soybean imports from Russia in 2021.
