On Sunday evening, a consumer watchdog program on CCTV exposed another scandal involving pet food, involving mislabeled ingredients at production facilities in Xingtai, Hebei.
Xingtai is the main production center for China’s pet food industry, accounting for 60% of domestic production with an annual output of 1.3 million tons. However, in March 2024 there was also a scandal involving pet food manufacturers in Xingtai mislabeling ingredients and using unsafe additives.
