Grain imports fall in August; beef imports remain strong

Beef imports remained relatively strong in August at 260k tons, up 4.0% from July. YTD imports are 1.8 million tons, down only 4.0% year on year. As noted back on September 5 (Brazilian beef shipments remain strong), Brazil’s shipments to China were the highest on record in July, and the second-highest on record in August.
