Wheat auctions see strong purchases but weaker prices

On Wednesday, Sinograin auctioned another 300k tons of wheat, with 211k tons, or 70%, purchased by the market. The average price was 2347 yuan per ton, down 12 yuan per ton compared to last week. Since the start of 2026, there have been 984k tons of wheat purchased by the market at the national reserve auctions. Of the volume purchased in this week’s auction, 204k tons was reserve wheat from 2017....
