Leading companies cut hog sales in February

Wens Group reported it sold 2.7 million hogs in January, a decline of 9.0% compared to January, but up 3.8% year on year. While sales would be smaller in February due to the Chinese New Year holiday, Wens saw a dramatic increase in sales in Q4 2025, followed by a sharp drop into 2026, with sales in February down 40.6% compared to December. The company’s average selling price during the month was 11.62 yuan per KG, down 22.3% year on year.
