Shandong province released its version of hog capacity control measures for the hog industry, based on the revised national policy from May.
The province says that its target for breeding sows should remain stable at 2.48 million. This compares with a previous policy guidance from 2024 that the province should have 2.6 million breeding sows.
The number of farms with over 500 hogs should remain above 10.5k, but this is also lower than the 2024 guidance of 11.5k.
