USDA increases China barley imports on faster Australian shipments

In its June WASDE report, the USDA increased China’s 2025/26 barley imports by 500k tons to 12 million tons, noting faster shipments from Australia. For the marketing year starting in October, China has imported 7.5 million tons of barley through April. This is the second-highest on record, behind 2023/24, which was at 10.1 million tons through April.
