Summer planting over 60% complete
Planting of summer crops is over 60% complete as of June 18, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. In northern China, planting is nearly 80% complete, in the Yangtze River Delta, it is nearly 40%, the southwest is over 60%, and the northwest is over 50% complete.
Planting of summer corn is over 80%, mid-season rice is over 70% complete, and soybeans are over 50% complete.
