Hog breeders have started to release June sales data, with Muyuan reporting sales down 11.3% year on year, and Wens reporting sales down 14.5%.
Wens sold 2.57 million hogs in June, the lowest monthly sales since September 2024, and down from a peak of 4.56 million in December 2025.
Muyuan reported an average selling price of 9.69 yuan per KG, down slightly from May. The most recent data for the company’s cost of production was 11.60 yuan per KG in May, indicating losses of 1.91 yuan per KG.
