China reports record wheat crop

China’s summer-harvested grain output reached 150.7 million tons, up 0.7% year on year. Of this, wheat production was 138.95 million tons, up 0.6% year on year, and a new record. Planted area was reported as slightly lower than last year, but this was more than offset by increases in yield, with wheat yields up 0.9%.
