Meat production exceeded 50.5 MMT in H1, driven by increased pork output

In the first half of the year, meat output grew by 4.3% to 50.5 million tons. Pork production was up 3.3% year on year, the fastest rate of growth in H1 since 2022. At the end of June, the hog population was 424.91 million, up only 0.1% year on year. Hog slaughter in the first half was 372.46 million, up 1.7% year on year.
