Wheat prices were flat last week in Hubei but rose the week prior to the highest level since May 2024. There continues to be a wide price spread based on quality. Some flour mills are purchasing wheat with 9-10% imperfect grains and 12.5% moisture at 2440 yuan per ton, while prices for wheat that meets stockpiling standards are 2600-2620 yuan per ton.
Under the stockpiling standards, this wheat needs to be at or below 12.5% moisture and needs to have 6-8% imperfect grains to reach Grade 3.
