Ag Min announces new policies for seed industry development

On Monday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced a new policy meant to protect intellectual property in the seed industry as part of the government’s efforts for seed industry revitalization. The law covers new varieties of seeds that have new traits but are derived from an existing registered seed. It requires companies to receive permission from the original creator of the seed and negotiate profit sharing with the original creator.
