Zhejiang takes a more hands-on approach with large firms to reduce hog capacity

Zhejiang issued a new hog capacity policy, targeting a 4.6% decline in breeding sows as part of the national policy to reduce overcapacity in the hog sector. The province said that as part of the national policy in May that cut the national target from 39 million breeding sows to 37.5 million, the province was assigned its new target by the Ministry of Agriculture.
