Argentine beef fills 50% of quota

The Ministry of Commerce announced that Argentina had filled 50% of its beef import quota as of August 5. As of the June customs data, China had imported 240k tons of beef relative to its 2026 quota of 511k tons. Brazil reached 80% of its quota on July 21 and Australia reached 100% of its quota on June 18, triggering a 55% import tariff. Beef prices in China have continued to rise, up 5.8% year on year, and live cattle prices up 6.9% year on year....
