Consumer prices rose by 0.5% year on year in July, down from growth of 1.0% in July, and the slowest growth since January. This was below estimates of 0.8%.
In the category of food, tobacco, alcohol, and dining out, prices declined by 0.8% year on year, contributing a decline of 0.22 percentage points to the index. Meat prices fell by 6.0% year on year, contributing a decline of 0.25 percentage points to the index.
