Temperatures in northeast China have been 1-2C this spring compared to normal. This has led to faster thawing of soil, and is positive for spring planting of corn, soybeans, and rice.
Soil moisture levels in the northeast are relatively similar to previous years, with 29.3% showing a deficit at 10cm, 46.7% having suitable soil moisture, and 24.0% have excessive soil moisture.
