The last time China had heavy rains during the winter wheat harvest was 2023.
As of June 7, 2023, the wheat harvest was 40% complete, and the weather service was warning of severe thunderstorms in areas of the wheat belt (New round of thunderstorm could further impact wheat crop – 2026-06-07).
So far this year, the Ministry hasn’t put out a national wheat harvest estimate as it’s still too early in the harvest season.
